Well, we’re all but moved in and settled here at the new place. Finally. Moving is no joke, not to mention doing it with a toddler. It’s something that I’d be perfectly fine never ever doing again, ever.
When designing our floor plans, we always had a playroom/study on our ‘must haves’ list. A place for toys & clutter to call home, a place for me to get some work done, and a place one day maybe, just maybe we can turn into a library. The latter is many moons away, but the playroom of little boy’s dreams was definitely something we could work to achieve now. I foresee this space being home to countless hours of giggles, hundreds of books read, stories made-up & played-out, the fluffy rug a resting place for little heads sleeping over, and I’m sure the occasional crayon drawing on the wall. We love this room in all of its new and shiny glory, but I’m convinced we’ll love it even more when its filled with memories of the years to come.
We were lucky enough to work with some great companies to help furnish and decorate this little space. The Marrakech Tribal Rug from Rugs USA was the perfect place to start and can be found here. It was the first big piece that I fell in love with for the space and it became a staple that everything else was inspired by. It’s bright and fluffy and has all the makings of a perfect playroom foundation. We then added Urban Walls, Blue Watercolor Polka Dot Decals from floor to ceiling on the main focal wall in the room and it makes the space pop, they can be found here. They’re incredibly easy to install and look just as good in person as they do in photos. And when I say easy to install, I mean EASY to install. I did the entire thing myself in just a few hours. And if I’m being honest, the only thing that slowed me down was waddling on a 12 foot ladder trying to convince myself not to look down. I’m not afraid of heights, but reaching to the top of a 14′ wall is not what it’s all cracked up to be. The ‘DREAM big’ print from Tiny Love Designs was the icing on the cake and can be found here. Her shop has some pretty rad prints that can be framed or simply taped to any wall and make for the perfect finishing touch on just about any space. I’ve done my best to source most other items below but as always if I’ve forgotten something, please shoot me a comment and I’ll source it!
